Art and science. Engineering and design. My interests have always spanned between two sometimes incompatible areas. I could never decide which direction to pursue - so I didn't. I believe there is a lot to be gained by having one foot in the scientific world and the other in the artistic world. My hope is that by combining engineering and design, I will be uniquely positioned to understand both the technical and aesthetic sides of products, neither of which can exist without the other.
In the spring of 2007, I graduated with a B.S.E. in mechanical engineering from the University of Iowa. Within engineering, I am interested in 3D modeling, product development, computer-aided design (CAD), and human factors.
Currently I am pursuing a master's degree in human-computer interaction/design (HCI/d) at Indiana University. My interests in HCI/d include interaction design, virtual environments, and experience design.
